about

A piece developed for FELTlive (2021) responding to the theme "cycles of history and connections across time".

"Oatley’s FELTlive work, ‘Recycling’, is inspired by Celtic Rhythm and their own light-hearted musings on the cycles of life and death. This playful engagement with the idea of reincarnation, and an intuitive relationship with string theory, has led Oatley to build their own tongue-in-cheek theory: ‘Recycling’: a sense that when our bodies break down and atoms disperse, those atoms are intrinsically embedded with that which is of the Self. The piece will try and translate some of this sense that is elusive and ever-present."

Thanks FELTspace for pushing me to do my first live Ableton set. Mwah x
